Digital guest guide: best practices
When to use this
- You want guests to find answers quickly without messaging you.
- You are setting up a new property or refreshing an old guide.
Steps
- Confirm the property address so the time zone is correct—guest dates and the checkout window depend on it.
- Write transport first: how to arrive from the main airport, train station, or driving directions guests actually use.
- Use “before check-in” for anything guests need on arrival day (transport, local highlights, the check-in section teaser). Save Wi‑Fi, appliances, and long house rules for “after check-in” so sensitive details are not shown too early.
- Keep check-in steps short and ordered: door codes, parking, keys, elevator quirks—one action per line where possible.
- Curate highlights as real recommendations (name, type, address, short note). Link rows from your Highlights library on the property; guests see them in the Highlights list.
- Add library contacts in Contacts (bottom menu) and link them on the property; per-unit-only numbers are created on the property edit page.
- Add clear photos: property gallery for the hero, section photos where they reduce questions (door, parking spot, appliance panels).
- After publishing, create a booking with real dates and open the guest link yourself to sanity-check what shows before and after check-in.
