Bookings: best practices

When to use this

  • You need a guest link for an upcoming stay.
  • You want to add dates and a name without editing the property itself.

Steps

  1. Open Bookings in the host app and use New booking, or open the property and use its Bookings panel—both create a stay on that property.
  2. Enter check-in and check-out dates. Checkout must be after check-in. Active stays on the same property cannot overlap; same-day checkout and next-day check-in on the same calendar day is allowed.
  3. Add the guest name (optional but helps you recognize the stay). Leave the access code blank to let Staysy generate one, or set a custom code if your workflow needs it.
  4. Submit the form. On success, use Share guest link on the booking row (or the property bookings list) and send it through your channel (email, OTA message, SMS).
  5. If you see an overlap error, adjust dates or end the conflicting booking first.
  6. To end access early, revoke the booking; guests then see a “stay ended” style message.
